Rather it be a sweet 16 or the big 50th, birthday parties take planning. Many people choose to do birthday party planning themselves, but I want to do that for you. I do the hard work so you don't have to!
Just like any other event, birthdays take time, money and thought. But, the options are endless. Birthdays allow you and I to both be creative. You tell me your dream birthday party and I will turn that dream into a reality.
In just 6 simple steps, we can have your perfect birthday party planned.
1. Set a budget.
2. Choose a theme.
3. Set a date.
4. Book a venue.
5. Decide on decorations, entertainment, food and drinks.
6. Invite the guests.
Here's a few questions I want to ask before we get started:
Who is the birthday party for?
How old are they turning?
Is it a surprise?
Before we get into the fun stuff, we need to set a budget. After that is set, we can move on to the fun stuff.
Now it's time to talk about themes. Try to be creative when choosing a theme - that's how you create a party for everyone to remember. Here's a few ideas to get us both thinking:
- Backyard Birthday Bar-B-Q
- Flashy 50th
- Art-y Party
- Grandma's Gala (or grandpa's!)
- Dancing Disco
I could honestly go on and on with all the theme ideas. Once we have chosen the theme, we can talk about setting the date. Will it be on their actual birthday? Before? Maybe after? The date is just as important as anything else.
The next step is thinking about the venue, which should be based on the theme. Will it take place in your backyard, or will do you want to rent out an event center?
After the venue is booked, we can move on to the decorations, entertainment, food, drinks, and everything else that makes a birthday party fun. These of course will also be based on the theme. As you can see, the theme plays a big role when it comes to birthday parties, so pick a good one! Will there be champagne and mimoas with endless amounts of fruit and cheese? Or will there be punch and soda with pigs in a blanket and pizza? Do you prefer cake and ice cream or candy and popsicles? Maybe you want it all. You can never go wrong with a dessert bar. Besides, who doesn't like a chocolate fountain?
After the date is set, the venue is booked, and the entertainment is decided, it's time to make a list of guests to invite. Will it be a small gathering with friends and family? Or will it be an extravigant night you want everyone to experience? When the list is finalized, we can get to the invitations. Do you want your invitations homeade with a special touch from you, or do you want them to be professionally printed out? If you want my opinion, I rather make my own, just because it allows me to be creative AND save money. Win-win for me!
Hopefully, this blog post got your creative juices flowing. Birthday parties are supposed to be fun and stress-free. I want to keep it that way, which is why I want to plan your party so you can sit back and enjoy it with your friends and family. Why stress when you don't have to?
